Good Friday
Good Friday is a Christian holy day observed during Holy Week that commemorates the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ at Calvary, taking place two days before Easter. It is regarded as one of the most solemn and sacred days in Christianity, honoring the sacrifice Jesus made for humanity’s sins through his suffering and death on the cross. Many Christians observe Good Friday through prayer, fasting, church services, reflection, and remembrance of Jesus’s passion, viewing the day as a powerful symbol of love, redemption, sacrifice, and the hope of resurrection to come on Easter Sunday.
“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.” - Isaiah 53:5 (NIV)
