Anthropomorphism

Anthropomorphism is when human traits, emotions, behaviors, or personalities are given to animals, objects, plants, or other nonhuman things. For example, a cat wearing a business suit, a coffee cup looking grumpy, or a talking moon taking a vacation are all examples of anthropomorphism. It is often used in cartoons, stories, advertising, and humorous art because it makes nonhuman subjects feel relatable and expressive.
