Capybara

A capybara (Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris) is the largest rodent in the world, native to South America and commonly found near rivers, lakes, and wetlands. These animals can weigh up to about 150 pounds and are herbivores, feeding mostly on grasses and aquatic plants. Capybaras are semi-aquatic, with webbed feet that make them excellent swimmers, and they can stay submerged underwater for several minutes to avoid predators. They are highly social creatures that live in groups and are known for their calm, friendly nature, often seen interacting peacefully with other animals. Despite their large size, capybaras are closely related to smaller rodents like guinea pigs, beavers, and mice, making them a fascinating and unique member of the animal kingdom.
