Hedgehog

A hedgehog (scientific name: Erinaceinae) is a small, nocturnal mammal covered in sharp spines that protect it from predators. When threatened, a hedgehog can curl into a tight ball, causing its spines to stick outward as a defense mechanism. Hedgehogs primarily eat insects, worms, and other small creatures, making them helpful for controlling pests in gardens. They are known for their quiet, solitary nature and are found in parts of Europe, Asia, and Africa, with some species also kept as pets. Despite their prickly appearance, hedgehogs have soft fur on their faces and undersides and are often considered gentle and curious animals.
